…istocracy is well-deserved. Meryl wasn’t a Disney princess who got her status by marrying a prince. When Meryl auditioned for King Kong in 1976, producer Dino De Laurentiis asked his son (who recommended Meryl for the role) why did he bring over “this ugly thing?” It didn’t get any easier from there on.
