As I became closer to these girls and we all returned to UCLA, I learned more about them and was surprised that their financial situations were exactly opposite. I had assumed Michelle’s flamboyant lifestyle was funded by wealthy parents. It turns out they weren’t wealthy at all — she had maxed out her credit cards to afford her expenses.
