…ods Storks are in the family Ciconiidae, and are the only true stork to breed in the United States. They are also the largest wading bird in the U.S., weighing 5 to 7 lbs. with a wingspan of 5 to 5.75 feet and standing nearly 4 feet tall — in other words, the height of an average 7-year-old child.
